Lost Finale -- the mini-breakdown

Wow. I loved it. It wasn't a game changer per-se, but it was extremely satisfying and answered many questions. As usual, it leaves us with even more questions, but I do like the direction we are heading, I am all for it.

Things we know or learned worth noting:
-Jin and Michael are dead. I am sure Jin could have survived if they wanted him to. I wouldn't be upset if it turns out he jumped off the boat....oh wait, the island is gone, there is nowhere he could have gone. That would also be a problem for Farraday and the remaining people on the little boat. Interesting to see where they end up.

-Michael is never coming back. Yeah, I read an interview with Harold Perrineau who plays Michael. Not only is he dead, but Harold hated the story line, is pissed Michael got killed, is pissed he never reunited with Walt, and went as far as to call it racist on the part of the producers. Uh-huh. Racist. Yep. Sour grapes? Yep.
You can find it on TVGuide.com

-Locke is dead, and he is Jeremy Bentham. If you haven't done your Bentham research yet, he was a utilitarian philosopher -- "greatest good for the greatest number"...hmm, very much not Locke's style, unless you believe his actions to-date have been about the ends justifying his means...wonder what has happened over the last three years once Locke is in charge? Based on what Jack said, 'very bad things'.

-I went to the website for Octagonglobalrecruiting.com -- this was the 'fake' Lost commercial they showed during the show. And yes, its a Dharma shoot-off, and yes you can leave your email address for more information. Looks like maybe a new summer game is coming for Lost fans -- I assume this Octagon group will fold into the story.

-Well, the island is gone and moved. Love it or hate it, the island moves. Yes it does. Perhaps next year we will learn that where the island once was is the home of the 'other foot'. Remember the statue of the 4-toe foot? Assuming there is another foot somewhere else which would help explain if the island was once attached to land? A lot of online posters are postulating this theory now.

-Penny and Des, Des and Penny. I am happy for them. Looking forward to see how Des re-assimilates back to life in the 'real world' -- I assume he will show down with Ben at some point when he comes looking for Penny. I wonder if we'll ever see Kenny Rogers helicopter pilot again.

-Charles Widmore has a terrible accent

I love this show, and this episode did not disappoint. I hate the hiatus, but this season was outstanding and I look forward to the last two.
